Comprehensive features for a small business

I've been exploring different platforms for my new D2C brand, and Instamojo offered a good suite of tools. I signed up for the eCommerce Website Builder, which was fairly intuitive, though some customization options felt a little limited compared to what I'd hoped for initially. Integrating the Payment Gateway was seamless, and I even dabbled with their Marketing Tools for a bit. The Analytics Dashboard provides decent insights, helping me track my sales performance. Delivery of my first few physical products went smoothly thanks to their Shipping Solutions. I did have a question about GST Invoicing, and customer support responded within a day. While setting up SEO Tools required a bit of learning, the overall package covers most bases for a startup.

Quick payment links

Used the Bulk Payment Links for an event. Worked perfectly. Payments came in fast. No problems.

Consistently reliable service

This is my third year using Instamojo for my online store. I started with their Payment Gateway and later upgraded to the full eCommerce Website Builder. What I appreciate most is the consistency; every order, every payment, it just works. This latest experience, adding the Abandoned Cart Recovery feature, was smooth, just like previous integrations. It's why I keep coming back instead of switching to competitors like Razorpay.

Easy to get started selling

I needed a quick way to sell some handmade items online, and Instamojo was recommended. Setting up my product listings was pretty simple, and getting the payment button on my site felt easy enough. Didn't have any issues with payments or anything, which was great. Just wanted something straightforward, and it delivered.

Good value, minor shipping hiccup

I decided to use Instamojo for my small business's digital product sales. The Digital Products Store feature worked quite well, and setting up the Smart Links was straightforward. Payments settled within a few days, which is reasonable. My one minor complaint was with the initial setup of the Shipping Solutions; it took a bit of fiddling to get the rates right, but support eventually helped. Overall, it's good value for the price, and I'd recommend it, with a note to double-check shipping settings.

My Instamojo payment gateway integration on my website suddenly started showing 'payment failed' for some customers. Anyone else facing this issue recently?

G gamerraj 1 week ago ✓ Best Answer
Mine was doing that last month. Turned out to be a small conflict with a new plugin I installed. Had to roll back and check one by one.

Oh, that's possible. I updated a few things recently. Thanks for the tip!

Good point. Could be a plugin update or theme conflict.

I'd suggest checking your Instamojo dashboard for any error logs related to those transactions. Sometimes it gives a more specific reason.

Customer care might also be able to see the specific error codes.

Will do. Didn't think to check there first.

I haven't had issues with my gateway integration, but I'm just using the basic payment buttons. Is it a custom integration?

C coolboy88 6 days ago
Yeah, it's integrated with a custom-built product page.

Just got the email about Instamojo's annual plan discount. Thinking of upgrading from monthly. Anyone here using the annual plan for their store?

R Rahul87 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Yes, I switched last year. The discount was pretty good, saved a decent amount compared to paying monthly. Worth it if you're committed to using them long-term.

Was it a first-year discount or recurring?

R Rahul87 1 month ago
It was for the first year, but they offered a renewal discount too, slightly less but still good.

I'm on the annual plan too, mostly for the extra features. The discount was a bonus. Plus, no need to worry about monthly payments.

Which extra features do you find most useful?

Definitely the abandoned cart recovery and some of the marketing tools. Saves me time.

Hmm, I looked at it but my business is still small, not sure if I want to commit for a whole year. What if I decide to switch platforms?

I'd check their refund policy for annual plans, just in case.

That's a valid point. Depends on your scale I guess. For me, it made sense.

How quick does Instamojo settle payments into your bank? Is it like instant or does it take a few days?

J James Foster 2 months ago
It's not instant like UPI, but it's pretty fast. Usually within 2-3 business days in my experience.
2
M Mia 2 months ago
Yeah, I'd say typically 2 days, sometimes 3 if there's a holiday. Never had to wait super long.

i'm trying to decide between instamojo and razorpay for my small business. any thoughts on which is better or easier to set up?

B Brett F. 2 months ago
Both are good, but I found Instamojo a bit simpler to get started with, especially if you're building an actual store. Razorpay feels more payment gateway focused.

B Ben Kim 2 months ago
I've used both. Instamojo has more built-in store features if you're not techy. Razorpay is solid for just payments but you might need more custom setup for a full shop. KYC for both was pretty straightforward though.

Are there any coupons floating around for waiving transaction fees for new users? Starting out, every bit helps.

R Rosa L. 1 month ago
I haven't seen specific 'transaction fee waiver' coupons for new users lately, but the referral credits can help offset some of those costs.

D Dana Reyes 1 month ago
Not that I know of directly, but sometimes those startup credit bundles they offer might include something like that or make it feel like it. Mostly it's the referral credits or percentage off the plan.

Thinking of signing up for Instamojo. How do the referral codes work? Do both people get something?

J Julia S. 2 months ago
Yeah, pretty sure it's a mutual thing. You get some credits for signing up with one, and the person who referred you gets some too.
4
B Ben V. 2 months ago
Yep, that's how it usually works. I used a friend's link and we both got 500 INR in credits last year. It's a decent little bonus.

I'm looking at their annual plans, do they ever do discounts for those? Or is it mostly just referral stuff?

R Rosa 1 month ago
They definitely do annual plan discounts. Keep an eye out during big sales like Diwali or New Year, that's when I usually see them.
2
A Amber Nguyen 1 month ago
Yes, they usually have 10-25% off annual subscriptions during seasonal sales. I grabbed one during the Great Indian Festival last year.

Does anyone know if Instamojo is good for selling digital stuff like ebooks or templates? Or is it more for physical products?

L Lisa K. 2 months ago
Oh for sure! I've seen tons of people selling digital products on there. It's actually one of their main things.
2
G Gwen 2 months ago
Yeah it totally handles digital products. I use it for my photography presets. Works pretty well, you can set up instant downloads.
